My client who is based in Heathrow is looking for a Technical Designer with strong Juniper Data Centre skills to be part of a wider Design Delivery, Service and Operations (DDSO) organization. This is for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

As a network design community we are dispersed across the globe. Within the UK team we have 500+ designers working from a number of office and customer locations.

What you'll be doing

*Lead and implement the design and development of network solutions for Data Center Infrastructure areas.

*To provide analytical and innovative input to design/support projects undertaken by the frontline designers (TD's)

*Assists team members in transformation strategy for a network or technology discipline in own area of expertise

*Leads complex DC/ Cloud infrastructure (network, storage and compute) design/implementation and migration.

*Participate in work stream planning process, including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of network

solutions Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve high severity issues or problems.

*As an expert in DC technology need to support multiple contracts for engineering advice and resolutions on design and configurations.

*Collaborate with or guide internal or external teams during the problem resolution process as needed.

*Create and review network schematics, diagrams, and other program documentation to assist with development and preparation of cost estimates, and review vendor proposals.

*Develop capacity planning models and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.

*Understand network requirements and provide High Level Design and Low Level Design.

*Plans and execute complex Network Upgrades and Network Migration activities

*Could lead on a specific deliverable of a medium/complex scale project within a work package

*To champion and specify the use of BT's strategic Choices for Design Tools, Systems and Templates across various teams

*Lead the initiatives in looking for efficiencies in designs through use of patterns and templates, rather than bespoke requests

*Interact with SME's globally and contributes L&D for the internal and external teams

*Drive standardization across hub to ensure operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed as appropriate

*Undertake work outside of direct responsibility when required on behalf of the leadership team

*Should have strong desire to learn & catch up with new products, technologies & services in the field of data networking

Skills Required:

*Provide Planning, Designing, and Implementation around Juniper DC products and solutions.

*Juniper DC products MX Series and EX or QFX Series

*Technical leadership of one particular technical area/domain within a portfolio e.g.

*Mandatory technical skills required : Juniper Technology - Virtual Chassis, MC-LAG, Q-Fabric, Fusion, E-VPN

Protocols :

EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, Multicast, AnyCast, DSCP/QoS, EVPN, VxLAN, OTV.

*Good understanding on the Cisco/Aruba WLAN technology.

*UCS/Virtualization, Python, JSON programming will be good to have.

*Knowledge of virtualisation tools and concepts

*Deep understanding of Routing protocols, ability to plan, prioritize, organize, schedule and execute assignments

*Strong analytical skills, with strong problem-solving capability.

*Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

*Good understanding on Load balancers like F5 /ACE

*Good understanding on Firewall (ASA/Checkpoint/Palo Alto/SRX)

*Knowledge on Cisco Nexus series e.g. 9K, would be added advantage

*Juniper certification at professional level or above e.g. JNCIP(DC), JNCIE(DC)

Experience you will be connected to have:

*At least 5-10 years of direct, hands-on experience in Network design and Implementation on Juniper Datacentre product lines (Juniper Data Centre Products: QFX, Q Fabric).
