Leader - Insider Threat

Would you like to develop and implement strategies concerned with Insider Threat? We currently have a vacancy for a Leader - Insider Threat at our site in Farnborough.

Insider Threat is increasingly recognised by the business as a significant risk given our role as a defence and Security Company and the reputational impact of a serious Insider Threat incident. Therefore, the focus of this role is critical in helping reduce the likelihood and managing any potential reputational damage if such an event were to occur.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the wider BAE Group, working internationally with the additional BAE businesses.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Leader - Insider Threat will involve:

Working with external stakeholders such as NCSC, MoD, Law Enforcement and Industry partners to enhance our understanding of Insider Threat risks, mitigation strategies and technical solutions (where appropriate).

Engaging with internal business stakeholders to continually evaluate our Insider Threat risks and review the effectiveness of our mitigation strategies and technical solutions.

Delivering the agreed Annual Insider Threat plan.

Working closely with the wider OCIO IT Security Team to ensure we have an integrated approach to IT security activities across the team.

Acting as a key conduit for the transfer of best practice across the non US Sectors and geographical boundaries.

Working with Legal, HR, IM&T, Group Security and other functions to ensure Insider Threat processes meet the applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

Working with the Head of IT Security Improvement to develop an appropriate set of annual assurance activities to validate the effectiveness of our Insider Threat capabilities across the non US Sectors.

Overseeing and improve as required a clear set of monthly management reporting associated with Insider Threat and provided in an appropriate format to senior management and key stakeholders.

Supporting any emerging Insider Threat incidents and investigations in conjunction with non US Sector Security Leads, HR and Legal and where required liaison with relevant external authorities as part of our mandated reporting obligations.

Your skills and qualifications as a Leader - Insider Threat:

Essential:

Capable of a very high standard of written communication including experience of writing complex reports.

In-depth knowledge of Insider Threat risk and effective risk mitigations strategic and techniques.

Experiences in the practical implementation of Insider Threat tools and techniques in a large complex organisation.

 

Desirable:

Degree in IT or Computing relating subject (desirable but not essential).

Experience working with UK Government and Law Enforcement agencies.

Background and/or experience working in the fields of behavioural sciences, psychology or human to technology interactions would be desirable.

Significant experience in an IT Security and / or personnel security role supporting projects / businesses or an individual with a strong background in Legal / Data Protection / HR with specific experience in managing disciplinary and grievance cases.

Experience in security / HR incidents and investigations in-line with good practice and Legal / Regulatory obligations.

You will have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a variety of audiences, in particular convincing senior management in relation to how we can effectively mitigate the risk of Insider Threat.

You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity and discretion to manage potentially sensitive incidents and investigations with internal and external stakeholders.
