Contract Principal Performance Test Engineer - Dubai - 50,000 AED - 60,000 AED Monthly

An opportunity for a Principal / Lead Performance Test Engineer has arisen to work for a prestigious organisation based in Dubai. As a Mobile Performance Engineer you will be responsible for creating and executing software performance testing strategies for mobile applications. You will be responsible for providing diagnostic information on production and test performance results. This position will play a key role in automating processes to improve productivity in testing and engineering practices. This position requires an individual with a strong programming background, analytical abilities and multitasking skills to work in a collaborative environment towards resolving complex problems.
*Champion Performance Engineering practices across the Enterprise
*Provide governance and leadership of Performance Engineering practices to deliver best in class performance, availability, scalability and reliability (Shift Left & Shift Right)
*Develop a long term vision and strategy for building a culture of performance
*Establish the Reliability and Chaos Engineering Practice and Coach and mentor a team of high performing Performance Engineering professionals, providing continuous feedback and facilitating professional development and establish a position as a thought leader in the Performance Engineering space
*Provide a strategy for Performance metrics (KPIs, OKRs) across the portfolio to assess progress and support continuous improvement - work closely with the Release Train Managers in relation to go-live events.
*Establish and advocate performance best practices for the Architecture, Design and development community, in order to high quality products and solutions
*Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts, Developers and QA engineers to define performance engineering and testing strategies for their products.
*Measure and drive continuous improvement of performance, availability, scalability and reliability across applications
*Work with Architecture to ensure NFRs are captured and solutions can be tested
*Collaborate with all stakeholders, including operations and support, to reduce MTBF
*Well demonstrated performance testing, performance analysis and tuning experience of Web, Mobile (Hybrid and Native) and Thick Client Applications
*Expertise in setting up Chaos Engineering practices (including infrastructure) and using chaos testing tools like Chaos monkey, Gremlin or other cloud-native tools
*Strong understanding of Architecture, including Microservices Architecture, SOA and cloud hosted large scale systems (at all levels system, network, integration, data) and a sound knowledge of performance patterns and anti-patterns. Hands-on experience working with containers, container management and orchestration
*Front-end/UI performance testing and analysis experience across Websites and Mobile Apps, with tools/solutions like WebPageTest, lighthouse, Device Farms, etc.
*Practising knowledge of implementing and using Application Performance Management Tools like AppDynamics, DynaTrace, New Relic etc., and open source profiling tools. Vast knowledge of troubleshooting performance bottlenecks across multiple layers
*Excellent grasp of infrastructure monitoring solutions using both Monitoring tools and native monitoring solutions
*Proven experience in building Workload models for complex systems using analytics and user-pattern analysis
*Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Delivery. Demonstrable experience is setting up performance quality gates within the CI/CD pipeline (at a component level, integration level)
*Well-versed in distributed tracing solutions and logging frameworks, and implementation of the same
*Proven track record working in Agile and Waterfall projects
