About Us

Beacon is a charity with a bold vision of making a visible difference for people living with sight loss, helping them to live fuller, more independent lives. We are now looking for a Project Co-ordinator to oversee our West Midlands Technology Project for a 12 month fixed term contract. Funded by the Thomas Pocklington Trust, this project will map existing assistive technology provision across West Midlands sight loss organisations and scope the delivery of shared services.

Your Role

As a Project Co-ordinator, you will be tasked with leading this transformative project and enhancing the assistive technology offering for people with visual impairments across the West Midlands.

Delivering all elements of the project from scope and hands-on management to budgeting and delivery, you will ensure successful outcomes and conclusions are gained and assistive technology provision is enhanced for the future.

Additionally, you will support the application of Assistive Technology projects and programmes at Beacon.

About You

To be considered as a Project Co-ordinator, you will need:

- High levels of technological experience, ideally in an assistive context
- Excellent people engagement skills
- Experience of developing strategies and implementation plans

Some experience of the sight loss or disability sector and the role of technology within it, would be beneficial to your application.

Other organisations may call this role Project Officer, Assistive Technology Officer, Assistive Technology Project Manager, Assistive Technology Strategy and Development Officer, Technology Project Manager, or Technology Project Officer.
