Junior Solution Architect

Support the senior architects to develop design documentation for the eco-system. Utilising TOGAF and ArchiMate. To include products/components such as: Healthcare Integration Platform, Electronic Master Patient Index, Electronic Clinical Document Management, IHE based Security framework.

*Undertakes investigative work under the guidance of senior architects, using appropriate methods and tools as directed. Applies required modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards in an intelligent and effective way. Organises information logically to allow solutions to be prepared and presented clearly and effectively;

*Creates solution artefacts (business and/or solution requirements, system overviews, product options analyses, technology roadmaps, etc.) under the guidance and on behalf of senior architects. Ideally this should be across more than one sector, e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, and Transport.

Setup and manage an architecture repository which will hold the different architecture models, design documents and other artefacts. Working closely with both the Defence Medical Services Business Architect and ISS Design lead to ensure alignment of the design artefacts.

*Develops an awareness of, and becomes proficient in the use of, standard methods, e.g., the Unified Engineering Method, and templates in support of the development of solutions, and produces documentation for Business and/or IS systems architectures using the appropriate methods and templates;

*Develops familiarity with the prevailing Architecture Service Catalogues, and is able to apply these as appropriate in assignments;

*Contributes to the maintenance and development of Architect support tools and services, such as described in the prevailing Services Catalogue;

Support a monthly Technical Design Authority board, including the preparation, facilitation and management of formal minutes/actions/records.

Previous experience and skillset:

*Typically educated to degree level in a numerate/computing discipline, and/or holds a professional qualification;

*Demonstrates high standards of professional behaviour in dealings with clients, colleagues and staff;

*Has knowledge and experience of software development practises and methods, systems analysis and design techniques, e.g., Agile, including some practical experience of software development.
