I protect lives, not money.

At MI5, technology plays a big part in helping to keep the country safe. Not just from cyber-attacks, but helping us prevent terrorism and espionage, too. That's where our Technology Graduate Development Programme (TGDP) comes in. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on the kind of projects, teams and technology you won't find anywhere else.

The TGDP programme

Over two years, you'll gain a wide range of unique skills, knowledge and experience. It all starts with an Outward Bounds Experience with the other TGDP graduates. This is great for team bonding, confidence building and developing your leadership and other skills. In fact, all the areas that will come in useful for your work.

Then you'll hit the ground running on the full programme. You can look forward to working collaboratively with different people on a variety of projects. Of course, you'll enjoy plenty of on-the-job learning. We'll also give you individual training, designed to meet your specific development needs. What's more, we'll support you all the way. That could include funding for relevant courses or professional qualifications to further your career. All so you can build a variety of skills on real-life projects that help protect the country.

What we're looking for

You can choose from either our Business or Specialist stream. The Business Stream covers roles such as Project Management and Business Analysis. To join the Business stream, you'll be expecting a 2:2 in any subject and have a genuine interest in technology. The Specialist stream offers roles such as Software Engineering and Data Science Specialist. So if you're expecting a 2:2 in a STEM-related degree, that's the stream for you.

It's not just about your technical knowledge. As a good communicator, you'll know how to get on with different people. We're also looking for your ability to analyse problems and try new approaches. Add an honest attitude and good judgement and you'll enjoy the scope to help keep the UK safe.

What we offer

Great training, supportive colleagues and a range of real-life projects are just the start. You'll also enjoy an excellent salary, great benefits and an amazing work-life balance.

So, join a programme that makes a difference.
