Exciting opportunity in Gloucestershire for a skilled Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software engineer to join a small innovative company providing engineering design, research and development to the UK defence sector. Our client is looking for a talented engineer with both electronics and software skills. The ideal candidate will have prior industrial experience with a 2:1 or better degree from a well regarded University. The ideal candidate will need to be highly articulate and capable of expressing technical topics both verbally and in written form.

Keys skills to include:

* Electronics design to include schematic entry and PCB layout using Altium Designer

* Software skills: - object orientated design - real time software - embedded C and C++ - Python (or similar high level language) - Fluent using Git revision control - Using unit testing frameworks

* RF engineering knowledge - Using test equipment such as spectrum analysers and signal generators - Basic theory of impedance matching, propagation loss - Be able to specify technical parameters of RF components and modules

* Software Defined Radio & Digital Signal Processing - good understanding of discrete time systems, the FFT, digital filtering and signal analysis and associated software tools
