Hey there Procurement Analyst! I'm really glad you're here, there aren't enough of you around and I've got a bit of a problem...You see I'm not just looking for your typical Procurement Analyst. I have been given the unenviable task of finding a Procurement Analyst with the x-factor, maybe even more than one x-factor - but I'll come back to that later. First let's talk about why you would even want to listen to me waffle on:I am working exclusively with a business you've never heard of, within another business you've probably never heard of, that runs a business you've definitely heard of. You'll be employed by CKH Innovations Opportunities Development (I know sounds exciting right...) a start up business created by CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd and that exists to centralise processes (Such as Procurement...), drive innovation, seek opportunity, and create new applications for 3 Mobile (Otherwise known as Hutchison 3G UK Ltd) and it's various other global mobile operators.This is an opportunity to join a disruptive, high change, innovative and pacey startup. Startups are meant to be risky to join - not this one, they have the backing of an enormous global conglomerate that is absolutely invested in their success. I mean, if you'd made £4b in profit in 2018 you'd probably want to invest some if it in your future too right? Well they're doing exactly that with this business and now it's your chance to join them if you fit the criteria.You'll need all of the usual attributes that an analyst usually has. Good with numbers, good at interpreting data, good at helping the rest of the team use what you can glean to improve their activities. What's important from a knowledge standpoint, is that you understand the commodity you're going to be dealing with. In this case, your focus will be on hardware - You'll be crunching the numbers on high volumes of a wide range of mobile devices, looking at past sales performance, purchasing accuracy, cost efficiency and using this information to improve the value that CKH IOD bring to its international stakeholders, the operating companies.You'll be engaging with these operating companies on a regular basis and this where x-factor number one comes in - not only will you be an analytical whizz, but you'll also be able to engage with these stakeholders in a way which enables you to gather the information you need. These are busy people, based in the UK, all over Europe and sometimes even further afield. Top notch communication skills are essential, a foreign language such as German, Italian, Swedish, Danish or Mandarin (Can you guess where the operators are based...?) could also be beneficial.X-factor number 2... This is a start up, and at the moment they're primarily using excel to manage their procurement data. So yes you'll be pretty darn good with all things excel. But... This is a start up, and they are absolutely open to using other tools that will help them to add value - if you have ideas they want to hear them!In essence, what I'm looking for is a communicative, innovative, adaptable and analytical procurement professional. The kind of person that loves to throw themselves into the action, get everyone on board with what they're doing, make the numbers work for the business, bring order (and data) to chaos and love it. You'll likely have a background in electronics devices or telecoms, maybe you'll have worked for an operator, but most of all you know numbers.
