Senior Solutions Architect £58,000 - £70,000 + 24% pension & Excellent BenefitsLondon (Canary Wharf)Experis are currently supporting a client based in central London to source talented Senior Solutions Architects to join this forward thinking, diverse and vibrate organisation based in central London.Working for a Government funded regulatory body who are building a Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) driven organisation and will lead industry by showcasing best practice when dealing with data, digital and technology in the energy sector. Their more modern, insight-driven, innovative approach to DDaT will provide outstanding experiences at the right cost, quality and pace for the whole of the organisation and ensure consumers receive a top-quality and cost-effective supply of energy.The Solution Architect leads the design work on a project, working collaboratively with the project team, key business representatives and all the impacted design teams (both internal and outsourced) to produce the end-to-end solution design. The role will ensure that the solution architecture:meets the business requirementsmoves the enterprise architecture forward towards the target architecturecan be supported and maintained easily, without increasing IT costs and complexity Responsibilities:Lead, mentor and collaborate with the technical community to align and refine best practices and ensure their adoption, developing and maintaining buy-in and encouraging input into the development of an agreed, implementable digital architecture and a digital operating model.Promote best engineering practices including Test Driven Development (TDD), code reviews, automation, lean engineering principles, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOpsKeep up-to-date on latest trends in technology and take this learning into daily workFacilitate maximum re-use of IT assets and services to give value for money, consistency of service, cost reduction and improved organisational capability, aligned to aligned to Enterprise Architecture principle, standards and patternsDrive forward a reduction in the complexity of the current IT estate, identifying opportunities for decommissioning, consolidation of components, applications, integration technologies, data and hardwareOperating at a solution and portfolio level, develop end-to-end technical solutions to meet agreed business requirements, as encapsulated within a project or similar activity, ensuring that: The portfolio of individual component domains necessary to effect the desired change is identified and engaged;The high-level nature of required changes on a per-domain basis is identified, and that the sum of design activities across all domains provides an end-to-end solution Skills / Abilities:Extensive experience in 2 or more IT disciplines (architecture, development, business analysis, application management, testing)Experience delivering complex cross-functional, solutions in a collaborative environment with exposure to multiple and diverse technologies and environments; and an ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternativesFull project lifecycle experience with the ability to deliver high quality E2E solutions to demanding timeframeSound knowledge of architectural patterns, practices and frameworks, able to design and review solution architectures through the application of patterns and principlesExcellent communication skills, able to facilitate technical workshops, and clearly communicate ideas solutions and complex concepts through various means (written, presentation and in person), with both internal and external teams and non-technical audiences
