Data Migration Developer Role

Location - Bristol

Duration - 3 Months initially

IR35 - Outside

A Public Sector client of ours has a temporary vacancy for a full time Data Migration ETL Developer to join the Data Team and support the migration of live data from the legacy database to the new hosted data store and provision of test data to non-production environments to support testing.

You will be responsible for:

Gathering and analysing requirements, and writing a specification for an ETL solution to de-duplicate and migrate master person records

Designing and building the ETL solution in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to de-duplicate and migrate the master person data

Designing and building an integration solution in SSIS to maintain de-duplication of master person records between the legacy and new data sets

Producing documentation to support the above

Essential:

*Significant experience of developing complex ETL solutions using SSIS version 2012 or above including use of embedded scripting (preferably using C#) at an advanced level

*Experience in using Microsoft SQL Server DBMS products (2012 or above)

*Experience of working in a large, complex project-based environment

*Experience of identifying and documenting business requirements

*Experience of working closely with project manager, developer and tester to understand needs

*Has worked in a pressured project environment with both internal and external parties

*Ability to produce and maintain high quality documentation.

*Ability to problem solve in a structured and methodical manner

*Qualified to Degree / HND level in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience and training) with substantial industry experience

Desirable:

*Knowledge of Amazon AWS concepts

*Experience using Oracle PL/SQL

*Experience using version control software (preferably GIT)
