Information/Configuration ManagerLocation: BristolDuration: 13 months My Client is looking for an experienced Configuration Manager, to help Develop a Configuration Management Strategy for MTRC defining the long-term vision of Configuration Control.This person will be based in Bristol for a 13-month contract. Role OverviewBrief overview of Project/Task: To Deliver the next generation of Land Environment tactical communications and information systems. It will enable Evolutionary Capability Development (ECD) in a way that has been impossible before.This role will join an existing team as it transitions from development to supporting test and experimentation.Role Summary: Essential skills, capabilities & experience Essential: Developing, writing and implementing Configuration Management (CM) StrategyCM of hardware and softwareDeveloping, writing and implementing Information Management (IM) StrategyDesirable: CM of military comms systems, ideally TACCIS / Bowman Responsibilities & Outputs (against SoR/TO): Liaise with GD SIL/JSIB/LSRC (Land Systems Reference Centre) in order to understand their ways of working/processes for Configuration and Information Management.Develop a Configuration Management Strategy for MTRC defining the long-term vision of Configuration Control.Develop and maintain a Configuration Management Plan based on the Strategy, describing the day-to-day configuration management activities that will fulfil the configuration management strategy.Conduct day-to-day Configuration Management of the following (but is not limited to): Hardware: GFX, Serial Numbered Test Tools, Serial Numbered server/network items, warranty and firmware upgrades where appropriate.Software: Test tools, licensing, EvO/BCIP/ECD configuration.Liaise with GD SIL/JSIB/LSRC to understand their processes of information management to create and develop the process for MTRC.Develop an Information Management Strategy for MTRC defining the long-term vision of IM.Develop an Information Management Plan based on the Strategy, describing the day-to-day Information Management activities that will fulfil the Information Management strategy.Conduct day-to-day Information Management for the MTRC in line with the Configuration Management Strategy. This includes but is not limited to maintaining the MTRC Knowledge Transfer Library on SharePoint as it grows through KT and all MTRC produced document sets.Develop an MTRC SharePoint Exploitation Policy. Due to the nature of the role, candidates are required to hold an active SC clearance or be willing/eligible to undergo the process.
