Java Software Engineer London to £120k

Java Software Engineer / Java Developer (Spring AWS microservices RESTful API SQL). Would you like to work on complex and interesting systems that provide daily challenges; collaborate with a friendly and upbeat team and improve your skills whilst enjoying a good work / life balance?

As a Java Software Engineer at this scale-up FinTech you will help take them to the next level with a focus on technology. You'll gain an indepth understanding of their core payments platform and collaborate with senior engineers to iterate and improve the product as the user base scales up (currently 40,000 clients).

There's a modern serverless architecture encompassing Java and C# .Net Core on the backend with Angular 6 on the client side; you'll work with a range of languages and technologies with a focus on backend Java development; scalability and high performance. Most of the work is Greenfield development; you'll be encouraged to share ideas and innovate, introduce new technologies and develop prototypes.

You'll join a small, talented team in the City; with the option to work from home part of the week.

Requirements:

 

Broad software engineering background with experience of working on highly transactional systems

Strong Java design and development skills across the full development lifecycle

Good knowledge of cloud technologies; AWS preferred

Microservices experience

Familiar with other languages and technologies such as C# .Net, JavaScript, Angular 4+, Node.js, microservices, serverless architecture

Agile team experience

Collaborative with good communication skills; keen to learn and share knowledge, ability to manage stakeholders
