Lead Developer/Software Manager - Newcastle - (£50,000 - £60,000)Bored?Unpaid?Undervalued?Maybe all of the above? If you are a Software manager looking for a new opportunity, this could be the role for you!The organisation in question are based in Newcastle upon Tyne (centrally, not 40 miles outside of the city centre!) and they are keen to recruit experienced Lead Software Developers, ideally with that hybrid mix of technical skills and leadership/client facing qualitiesThe roles are 'full stack' and they are keen to speak to applicants with either a background in Java or Microsoft .NET technologies. You'll be working on cutting edge projects, primarily enterprise in scale and focused around emerging markets such as Big Data, Cloud and AI. As a Lead Engineer you'll be expected to work across the full Software Development Lifecycle, working with both internal and external teams whilst acting as a technical escalation point for project issues. You'll also be given a voice, encouraged to research and suggest new technologies if you feel they'd be more suitable for the respective solution.What will you be doing?You will be part of a small, agile team of software engineers in Newcastle, UK to deliver high quality software.You will be working with the Development Manager, Product Manager and Architects to define deliveries and work within schedule.This isn't a hands on role but you will be heavily involved in the design, implementation, and delivery of highly scalable applications and web services using Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, C#, MVC, SQL Server, JavaScript, Exchange Server, IIS) on Microsoft Azure.Support software engineers on the team with guidance, experience, oversight, advice, and code reviews.Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that the software is fully unit tested, can be performance tested, and passes the companies quality requirements.Work with the Engineering Department's processes and tools ensuring best practices are adhered to on every project.Regularly participate in development meetings, and occasionally participate in department meetings.In return, you will benefit from an above market-rate salary (£50,000 - £60,000), varied benefits package and the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies in an Agile environment.
