The award-winning Fast Stream is the leadership development programme that develops the highest potential graduates to become the future leaders of the Civil Service. As a Digital, Data and Technology Fast Streamer you will work with experts to design, build and run services which are used by millions of people every day. Services such as register to vote, apply for a driving licence or apply for a UK passport.
You may also undertake technology, data or digital policy focused roles during your six placements and experience working in up to six government departments nationally.
You may be:
gathering and analysing data, including user research
product managing a new feature or improvements to an existing government service
project managing an IT system upgrade
building web services and creating content for websites
advising ministers and senior management on digital, data and technology strategy and policies
You will make government services easy to use and relevant to the evolving needs of our users. This is your chance to be involved in some of the most innovative e-government projects in the world.
The minimum starting salary is £28,000. Promotion and successful completion of the scheme will see you earn around £45,000 to £55,000 in your first role after the Fast Stream.
As a Fast Streamer you will get a blend of specialist learning and development (L&D) activities covering technical and leadership training including:
agile working

product management
user research
online and face to face learning activities
mentoring and work shadowing opportunities
access to talent managers who will provide specialist and leadership development advice
