About the Role

Experis are currently recruiting for a Data Specialist to work as the Head of Data, as Head of Data you`ll develop a vision, strategy and roadmap for all data related activities with our Client. Acting as a champion for data management, governance and quality across the organisation you`ll motivate and bring the right business and IT stakeholders to the table. As our Head of Data, your responsibilities are broken down into the leadership of the following areas: Enterprise Information Architecture and Management, Business Intelligence & Analytics and Data Strategy and Engagement.

Role Responsibilities:

Enterprise Information Architecture and Management:

* Policies and standards: Establishing data policies, standards, and principles for the use and development of data.

* Data Architecture: Defining the data needs of the enterprise, designing the master blueprints and artefacts and working with the Chief Architect to ensure data and enterprise architecture are aligned.

* Data Model: Developing an Enterprise Data Model Framework.

* Data Lineage: Understanding and controlling data lineage and the movement of data across the business.

* Data Governance: Organising and managing the implementation of policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities that outline and enforce rules of engagement, decision rights, and the accountabilities for the effective management of data and information assets across the business.

* Data Quality Management: Ensuring the fitness of data for use across the business; establishing maturity level, metrics and control activities and developing, overseeing and delivering a risk-based roadmap across the business.

* Maintain Security and Privacy: Planning and co-ordinating the development and execution of security policies and procedures.

Business Intelligence and Analytics:

* Management Information and Reporting: Managing the central MI and Reporting team.

* Business Intelligence, Performance and Analytics: Working with the Chief Architect to establish an architecture and collection of integrated decision-support applications and databases.

* Navigate Unstructured and Big Data: Taking inventory of applicable unstructured data, determining its format, security requirements, ownership, quality and value/purpose.

Requirements

* A broad knowledge of all aspects of data management including trends, practices and policies affecting the industry and business.

* Be a strong strategic influencer with a collaborative approach.

* Extensive experience of utilising a combination of in-house and third-party suppliers and building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with vendors.

* A strong track record of introducing best practice.

* Able to combine rigour and discipline with a pragmatic approach to deliver the highest quality, cost effective solutions within set time-frames.

* Possess strong business and commercial acumen skills.

* Can demonstrate the ability to plan ahead and anticipate consequences/ trends

* Able to articulate vision, possibilities, strategies and plans effectively.
