Job Title: CAD OperatorLocation: Moulton Park, NorthamptonSalary: £18,000 - £23,000 + Private medical cover and 4% pension contributionJob Type: Full time, PermanentThe Company is one of the UK's largest and respected independent Building Management Systems provider, they have been at the forefront of BMS installation and maintenance since 1983, having grown organically over the last 30+ years they have consistently supported the industry in delivering the highest quality for their customers.The Role:A position has become available in their projects team for a CAD operator, the role is to produce 2D electrical wiring diagrams for control panels in CAD / Solidworks Electrical format based upon drafts put together by their engineers, some previous electrical experience would be an advantage although not absolutely essential as they will provide training accordingly. Key Responsibilities:Primary ResponsibilitiesTo create drawings based on the specifications provided by Project Engineers, you will receive drafts from the Project Engineers, and then be required to translate them onto the CAD/Solidworks softwareUse electrical industry notations and symbols to give instructions on drawingsMaintain notation and symbol data base to ensure accurate selection of components used, all notations and symbols are to identify electrical terminationsAccurately label component sizing in line with instructions from Project EngineersEnsure accurate cross-referencing of electrical connections between drawing pagesRevise drawings based on instructions from Project EngineersMaintain company CAD standardsStore drawings electronically for later useEnsure PDF versions of drawings are stored in associated Project Document Folders on the Company serverGeneral Administration & Ad hoc dutiesMaintain good lines of communication with other departments and divisionsSet priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activitiesGather and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the company standardsEnsure compliance with Company Procedures and PoliciesBusiness SupportWork cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organisational effectivenessAssess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organisationMaintain a safe and secure working environmentEnsure security, integrity and confidentiality of dataUnderstand ethical behaviour and business practices and ensure own behaviour and the behaviour of others are consistent with these standards and align with the values of the CompanyTo be successful in this role, you will have/be:EssentialAutoCAD/Solidworks userFluent with Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookAbility to produce drawings and collate supporting documentation to deadlines and tight timescalesAn aptitude for interpreting hand drawingsSelf-motivationDetail orientedPunctualityGood Time ManagementStrong written/verbal communicationsComfortable working as part of a team and/or strong leadershipAbility to work under pressureDesirable3 years detailing experienceElectrical Engineering knowledgePrevious experience in CAD draftingKnowledge of drafting software for creating 2D computer drawingsPlease click the APPLY button to send your CV and covering letter for this role.Candidates with the experience or relevant job titles of; CAD Technician, CAD CAD Estimator, CAD Security, CAD, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Design, AutoCAD, 2D CAD, CAD Operator, CAD Designer, CAD Design, Corel Draw will also be considered for this role.
