Security Operations (SOC) Analyst - Midlands- SC Clearance - Permanent RoleOur FTSE 100 client is looking for a Security Operations (SOC) Analyst to play a key role in the implementation of people, process and technology security measures. You will be responsible for providing a point of escalation for junior team members and working proactively to ensure future security incidents are prevented by the implementation of technical security measures.

Key responsibilities; Work as a key member of the SOC team, providing day-to-day guidance and support to SOC Analysts, delivering real time proactive monitoring and security incident responseImplementation of security improvement programmes to strengthen the businesses first line of defenceReport to senior management on the progress of major security initiativesRemain up to date with current attack methods and characteristics in order to identify threats and implement treatment plans to prevent, mitigate and remediateEssential Skills;Minimum 1 year previous SOC experienceFamiliarity with ISO27001Experience with SIEM ToolsDesirable skills;Demonstrate experience in a Security Operations role, leading risk identification and remediation activities within a Security Operations Centre environmentThorough technical knowledge of Security Products, able to advise on strategy and impact of those productsAbility to influence and challenge constructively, particularly at Head of Function levelEffective communicator with Defence Sector experienceTechnical Expertise -should include more than one of the following;SIEMVulnerability ManagementTCP/IP, LAN and WAN networkingNetwork Security (Firewalling)IDS/IPSDLPEndpoint securityKnowledge of current cyber threats/trends
