Are you an engineering lead with a track record of architecting, designing, planning and implementing software using Agile? This leading UK training provider is seeking an experienced software lead to significantly contribute to their systems roadmap in a high availability and secure infrastructure, increasingly delivered through the cloud.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Microsoft development background and who has more recently held responsibility for software architecture, DevOps, software methods and standards. You should have experience of development and implementation across a range of applications including web/CMS, e-commerce and ideally CRM and ERP. You will not be coding in this role but you will be hands on with development teams, systems design, release management and systems optimisation.

You will be working collaboratively with architects, BA's, developers, QA, release and operational teams and the role can be seen as the technical "glue" between these functions as you will be advising on feasibility, design, and architecture wrapped around good practices, tools and standards. You will monitor and improve the quality of development, automated systems releases and live systems configurations. Occasionally you will help troubleshoot major issues. This role will offer you the chance to extend your skills in DevOps, AWS and software and architecture.

You will be results oriented, with a keen attention to detail, a good problem solver with analytical skills who is passionate about staying up to date on technologies, best practices, trends and standards within the software development field. Most importantly you should be an excellent team worker and someone who can share their knowledge and ideas.

A salary is offered up to £60k plus flexible working and a competitive benefits package.

Some of the requirements are:

- Extensive experience with MS development and database technologies.

- Strong experience of agile software development, pref. SCRUM and managing offshore development teams

- Understanding of release and change management, DevOps and a working knowledge of automation software.

- Experience of developing and maintaining high performance, high availability applications and services across a range of virtualised and cloud solutions.

- Experience of environments with multi-tiered, client-server, distributed, service-orientated or micro-service application architectures

- Understanding of secure development practices.The ability to manage vulnerability remediation.

- Awareness of security threats and standards

- Experience with identity and access management technologies and protocols

- Experience of database design, object-oriented techniques, standard software dev. and integration design patterns

- Knowledge of administrating, automating and tuning web servers using IIS also experience of caching and containerisation technologies
