Technical Solution Architect

Location - Bristol

Rate - £400 - £425

Duration - 6 months initially

IR35 - Outside

The Architect is not directly responsible for the day to day operation of any individual systems, but they take an overarching view of multiple technology layers including:

*Audio Visual design and provision

*Networking/Wireless capabilities in physical spaces

*Digital Security

*Telecoms provision

*Internet of Things/Sensor

*Building Management Systems Infrastructure

*Intelligent Buildings/Campus capabilities

Essential

*Evidence based approach to proposed architecture changes. The architect should be viewed as a trusted partner in the enterprise by the IT organisation.

*Must possess an extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry. This breadth should cover multiple areas of digital/smart infrastructure including API driven integration approaches and experience of basic network and service design.

*Proficient in the techniques that go into producing designs of complex systems, including requirements discovery and analysis, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and architecture design.

*Must have experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production.

*Must be up to date on a wide variety of technologies, techniques, patterns, and tools.

*Decision making skills between difficult and non-obvious options

*Must be comfortable working with minimal direction to deliver outputs to tight timescales

Desirable

*A broad understanding of public sector and the processes within the sector is desirable.

*A broad understanding of Audio-Visual (display) and related infrastructure designs

*A understand of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) processes used to design and build new developments

*Working knowledge of TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)

*Working knowledge of Archimate/BizzDesign modelling language.

*Experience with an Infrastructure as a Service platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
