Role: Rail Commodity Manager (Bogie and Overhaul)

Location: UK - (Various client sites)

Contract: 6 Months +

Day Rate: £400 - £500 per day

The Role:

Our leading client requires a Buyer / Commodity Manager experienced in the procurement of Rail Materials and management of a portfolio of commodities within a Service and Maintenance (S&M) category (Bogie and Overhaul) Experience of procurement / source-to-contract activities to enable the client to perform its S&M activities including execution of overhaul.

Execute agreed Procurement Strategy and support the development and strategy for system overhaul including, Spend & Demand Analysis, Supply Market Analysis, Define Commodity Plan, Setting project procurement plans for localisation and supplier qualification in line with the agreed category strategy / plan and executing sourcing projects accordingly.

Essentials:

*Source-to-Contract experience through Identification and approval of potential suppliers for the commodity portfolio.

*Run sourcing events such as RFx, e-auction etc. based on the agreed sourcing strategy.

*Manage the source to contract gate stage approval process.

*Evaluate the supplier proposals as well as providing recommendations for supplier selection to the organisation.

*Contract drafting, negotiation and approval and award. End to end experience required

*Contract Enablement experience in leading contract handover reviews with S&M

*Contract Management experience, being the escalation point for contract claim negotiation and supplier non-performance

*Supply Base Management experience in conducting supplier qualification, approvals and FAI and performance reviews

*Procurement and Category management experience. Suppliers Negotiation for all contract provisions

*Aftermarkets or equipment service & maintenance environment experience

*Good working knowledge of SAP especially PO, Material Master, PIR, Contract management

*Strong knowledge of Contract law and drafting for a variety of products and services.

*Value engineering, logistics optimisation and experience of other cost saving methodologies

*A strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence piers and persuade senior stakeholders through clearly presented data.

*Experience in Microsoft office packages, especially Excel. An understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management tools would be beneficial

*Flexibility to travel UK wide and internationally dependent on projects.

*Qualifications

Desirable:

Educated to degree level (preferred)

Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience (preferred)
