Mechanical Development Engineer, Near Portishead, £40,000Huxley engineering are recruiting for one of their key clients near the Portishead area that specialise in the design and development of special purpose electro-mechanical machinery for a niche industry sector.The business is highly innovative; customer focused and has consistently grown over recent years.It offers all the advantages of a large multinational company backed up by the security and professionalism of a global group.Working under the direction of the Senior Engineer you will be responsible for the execution of design solutions within a multi-discipline engineering team, supporting product development at Product Company.This position will be responsible for influencing the design of new products and ensuring that serviceability is considered throughout the product commercialisation process on all Exhaust Management Systems.Skills requiredA good mechanically biased engineering degree (or other relevant engineering qualification with 2 years industry experience) Experience in product development and introductions is an advantage Knowledge of design for manufacture and design for assembly Experience of ICAT / Interface and CE (copy exact) Experience in the use of a range of engineering materials and with several manufacturing methods/techniques 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA, Visio, AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools) An understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics Results Orientation - focus on delivering to project milestones and timescales Understand key technical deliverables and requirements and can report concisely to more senior engineers and the project managerSalary will be £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience + benefits.
