A well established, premium financial service provider is looking for an experienced and talented Lead Software Tester / Lead Quality Assurance Analyst to join them at their offices just outside York. As the Lead Software Tester and QA Analyst you will focus on the testing of both customer facing digital products and services as well as backend systems created by the development teams. You will work with the developers, product owners and managers to produce and run testing plans. You will lead the implementation of a robust testing approach within development cycles that will provide an effective level of assurance before regular releases. You will champion the importance of quality in all deliverables.

LEAD SOFTWARE TESTER / LEAD QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST DUTIES

The Lead Software Tester / Lead QA Analyst role will include the following duties and responsibilities:

*Lead the production of comprehensive test plans and test strategies for the required deliverables, evaluating the effort required for completion

*Monitor progress of testing towards completion (including defect management), raising risks to delivery as appropriate

*Co-ordinate the regression testing for scheduled and unscheduled changes before delivery to production

*Provide leadership and mentoring other test team members

*Provide input to continuously improve test methodology

*Provide input to standard test metrics, reporting and defining the test target

*Report on test execution progress, defect status and lead in defect review meetings

*Logging defects and writing detailed bug reports and participating in root cause analysis

*Trace requirements to test cases to verify test coverage

*Carryout all types of required testing (Systems, integration, regression, UAT testing, API etc.)

*Analyse metrics for quality assessment and any failures

*Work with development teams in an Agile and waterfall environment

*Identify opportunities for quality improvements and lead the implementation of such improvements

*Create and maintain testing diagrams and supporting information

LEAD SOFTWARE TESTER / LEAD QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

We are looking for someone with a strong background in software testing, with a minimum of 3-4 years' experience with the following skills:

*Experience in software testing in multiple environments including test planning, test cases development, execution, and quality assessment

*Ability to make independent decisions on unique or varied matters

*Extensive experience developing test cases and test scenarios from use cases and/or requirements specifications

*Experience with various software testing strategies and approaches (e.g., parallel testing, systems, integration, regression, UAT testing, API testing etc.)

*Good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance concepts

*Knowledge of test metrics and how they are used for decision support

*Knowledge of common programming concepts, practices and structures

*Experience with Requirements Management, Test Management and Defect Management Tools

*Ability to analyse business requirements to determine test cases and verification points required

*Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills; strong attention to detail

*Excellent communication skills across all types of stakeholders

Desirable but not essential:

*Experience using Automated test tools - Webdriver, Selenium etc.

*ISEB/ISTQB certification

*Experience working to the BDD or TDD methodologies

*Experience testing mobile devices

*Previous programming experience (Backend/Frontend/Scripting/VBA)
