A leading educational institute based in London is currently recruiting a Oracle DBA. The ideal Oracle DBA will have comfortable experience of working in a challenging and complex environment with evidence of having been involved in the delivery of significant database projects.
Essential skills:
*Extensive experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other management tools.
*Experienced and knowledge in Oracle versions 10g, 11g, 11gr2 and 12c.
*Experience and knowledge of Oracle Database Design, Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning, Storage Management, Backup and recovery, Schemas, Clustering, Report Generation and data mining/modelling.
*Strong trouble shooting, performance tuning, Views, PL/SQL scripting experience in order to translate business needs into business processes.
*Strong design, implementation and administration knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server from 2008R2 onwards.
*Proven design, implementation and administration knowledge of at least one Highly Available (HA) solution and theoretical knowledge of other HA solutions
*Extensive technical knowledge and experience of administration, design and implementation of SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. Strong trouble shooting, performance tuning, T-SQL and Powershell/scripting experience.
*Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills when dealing with BI and information gathering.
*Experience of working in a controlled project environment (e.g. using methodologies such as PRINCE2/Agile/Scrum) Up-to-date knowledge of IT security threats and experience of having devised, implemented and tested disaster recovery and business continuity plans
*Experience of producing high quality documentation and operational documents to support new and existing database architecture and systems in particularly to database environments.
Desirable skills:
*Foundation level qualification in IT Service Management (ITIL)
*Qualified project manager, e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum (Foundation or Practitioner)
*Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Data Management and Analytics.
*Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Business Intelligence
*Experience of working in an educational environment preferable Higher Education.
*Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Active Directory and associated utilities
