Purpose

Embarking on a major IT Transformation project to drive change throughout our businesses, we seek a Technology Consultant to ensure ScottishPower design, deploy, operate, maintain and decommission IT Assets in line with Group standards and policies. 

This role is focused on the Client Services technology domain, establishing and delivering plans that will lead to the acceptance, implementation, maintenance and decommissioning of specific hardware or software assets in support of the broader architectural vision across the Iberdrola Group.

 Responsibilities

The Technology Consultant will define, communicate and educate on appropriate technical standards within the relevant technology domain, leading and approving the design of solutions within the relevant domain, ensuring compliance with Group standards and direction.

Managing the project lifecycle to ensure successful completion, with effective stakeholder communication throughout, the Technology Consultant will also be accountable for Supplier and Contract Management, Technical Support and for planning and supervising changes to the IT estate.

Offering a technical input to architectural planning, utilising relevant expertise to ensure that

architectural plans and budgets reflect the activities and investment required to move from the

current state to the desired state, the Technology Consultant will also provide technical support for procurement activities, utilising technical expertise to ensure that products or services being procured meet the required technical standards.

In this highly technical position, the Technology Consultant will be responsible for corporate platform components i.e. Windows OS, Office 365 and security i.e Antivirus, data loss prevention and VPN client software. The Technology Consultant will also be required to provide technical expertise to assist with the resolution of escalated operational problems and restoration of service to customers.

Attendance at conferences and external venues to ensure current knowledge of the application landscape may be required, as will periodic international travel to other company locations due to this role operating as part of a global team.

Skills & Requirements

Possessing significant experience of workplace platform integration from an organisation similar in scope and scale to ScottishPower, the Technology Consultant will quickly facilitate the adoption of new technologies, developing and communicating IT platform strategies and product roadmaps.

With a highly developed problem solving and delivery skill, the Technology Consultant will analyse complex issues, recommend appropriate solutions and manage projects to delivery whilst thinking both tactically and strategically to build effective relationships with key stakeholders locally and globally.

 The role holder will have a broad range of knowledge covering Windows OS, networking, internet technologies, desktop systems, email and Active Directory services whilst holding significant experience of Technology Lifecycle in a mobile, virtualised client environment coupled with indepth experience of traditional end user workplace environments

Influencing of colleagues, both in Spain and the UK will be an important aspect of the job and the role holder must be able to demonstrate an inter-personal style that strikes a good balance between being collaborative and direct/determined.

What We Offer

This is a permanent contract. Salary for this role will be from £47,600 to £59,500 per annum. Other benefits for this role include a performance related bonus up to 10% and single cover health care.
