About the Role:

Reporting to the COO, the Service Transition Manager will support their vision and assist in providing guidance to their highly experienced Operations teams, Consultants and Service Delivery Manager in consistently providing exceptional service transitions for their customers, both internally and externally.

The role will lead and shape the transition of customer solutions from their Professional Services to their Managed Services. You will have extensive experience in service take-on and transition projects as well Service Provider Managed Services. You will have a good understanding of Agile project delivery as well as Service and support initiation. You will be able to build strong, long lasting relationships with customers and suppliers as well as a clear communicator to their business. This role seeks an individual who will challenge conventional thinking, is a self starting innovator and someone seeking to drive process improvement and customer value creation. Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with the COO to identify improvements to service offerings and processes in relation to successful transition into service
  • Assist with the managing resource scheduling for service transitions
  • Work with the SAP PM to ensure that the consultancy team are utilised
  • Communicating the Service Transition and Change & Release process to all Clients and stakeholders.
  • Drive the service aspects of solution design and transition throughout the IT project lifecycle, including warranty and Hypercare
  • Managing the production and governance of Service Transition outputs, including MI, process documentation, support packs and communication packs
  • Experienced in engaging relevant stakeholders to provide Service Design and Transition Documentation
  • Representing operational stakeholders throughout the agreed project lifecycle, ensuring their acceptance criteria for live is understood
  • Specialist/expert capabilities and knowledge in ITIL processes
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills. PRINCE2 qualification and/or Project Management experience is desirable, ability to create plans of key milestones and dependencies
  • Experienced in managing the transition of new or changed IT Services into BAU
  • Ensure all Statements of Work are agreed and signed off with Service milestones and any business changes are managed against the agreed Statement of Work
  • Maintain positive relationships with key sponsors, project leaders, resources and partners
  • Be an active stakeholder in the support handover where applicable to their managed services or project implementations

The successful Candidate will have/ be:

Essential

  • Strong change, release and service transition skills, in a continuous delivery environment
  • Ability to build, implement and direct service transition principles that meet the quality and timescale objectives for delivery into production
  • Knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation
  • A proven background in change management, release management and/or service transition
  • ITIL Expert Certified
  • Proficient user of IT Systems and Service Management processes
  • Managed Services delivery and leadership experience
  • Microsoft Azure knowledge and experience
  • ITIL Service Management experience as well as Agile project delivery
  • Experience of a Managed Service Provider support environment

Desirable

  • Agile/DevOps Experience
  • Prince2 (Foundation and/or Practitioner)
  • ITIL Expert Certified preferably
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience of Cloud Managed Services
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery models and CI/CD
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications
