X1 Lead Software Developer needed, Livingstone, 6-12 month initial contract. Our client in Livingstone, Scotland specialises in Automation, Control and IT Solutions and Services with major customers in the Nuclear, Power Generation, Utilities and Oil & Gas markets. Summary of Role:Reporting directly to the Business Manager, this role requires previous experience in "technical delivery excellence" for projects ~£1m+ for automation and/or IT systems preferably in the energy sector. With proven experience of managing customer expectations through clear technical management, delivering solutions to tight deadlines and able to effectively work in an Agile process environment. The right candidate will need to demonstrate they can manage a small but developing engineering team, are able to clearly communicate the technical direction, with a clear focus on delivery objectives, quality control and product release.Role Description: Experienced software developer with proven capability in leading a team of software engineersAbility to break down complex problems for the development team and support implementation of best practiceExperienced in project delivery using the Agile delivery method (ideally Scrum)Desire to continually improve processes, systems and people.Ability to plan milestones and releases for at least the next 6 weeksCan work closely with other departments to determine the best delivery approach across the programme.Providing weekly update status reports.Setting expectations and appropriately challenging the Product Owner, Delivery Managers and other stakeholders in a constructive and solution based mannerWilling to travel with the potential for weekly visits to North London to strengthen the relationship with other lead developers.Full financial responsibility for product managementEssential Requirements:Proven experience as a Lead Software DeveloperSolid technical background with a keen understanding of broader business needs and strategySolid understanding with previous hands-on experience in software developmentCompetent of using JIRA/Confluence toolsets for workflow managementStrong problem solving skillsSkilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in an agile organisationStrong and demonstratable experience in C#, C++, ASP/MVC, .Net or equivalentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDegree n Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferredExperience in cloud-based solutions; management and deployment (AWS) Personal Requirements:Work well under pressure and be able to prioritise to meet deadlines and quickly shift priorities as necessaryAbility to multi-task, work independently and demonstrate keen attention to detailsCommunicate with diplomacy and tactTeam player attitude is mandatoryPositive attitude If interested then please send across your latest CV or call me in the Manchester Progressive offices.
