A technology solutions provider that has seen fast growth to become a trusted partner for its customer base throughout the UK is looking for a 1st Line Support Engineer in the North West of England. There is a strong family feel throughout the business and they pride themselves on being a close-knit team working from an open-plan office. They are keen to help and develop all of their team members with on the job training and regular 1:1’s. As a 1st Line Support Engineer, your duties will include:Responding to email and phone requests to maintain the operation of the customer’s computer systems to an agreed level.Providing remote as well as some onsite support, ensuring the business can achieve its targets.Taking responsibility for both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.Following agreed processes and procedures for the team.Assisting in the implementation of all IT policies and procedures relating to asset management for hardware, software and equipment. To be a successful 1st Line Support Engineer, you will have the following skills and experiences:
Previous work experience within an MSP environment or a relevant degree. An understanding and preferable experience of ITIL processes and service delivery software are advantageous.Strong customer service, communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage time effectively.Full clean driving licence for travel to customer sites.Good knowledge of IT technologies including Windows Server, Windows Operating Systems (7, 10, Internet Explorer), Office 365, Microsoft Application Support (Outlook, Word, Excel), Citrix, Active Directory/Exchange, Hardware, Service Management and Networking. In return, a 1st Line Engineer will receive a starting salary of £17,000 - £19,000 per annum which will increase with training.
