Data Architect

Spring Technology is working in partnership with a market leading FTSE 150 company to recruit a Data Architect to join them in their exciting new technical transformation. You will have experience of working in a global enterprise environment as well as having an excellent knowledge in modern and traditional architecture and processing concepts, including relational databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle) Data warehousing and big data (Hadoop, Spark, Storm).

The Company

You will be joining a FTSE 150 company with a global presence that is recognised as an industry leader. As the Data Architect you will be responsible for leading the creation of the Enterprise Data Model and the development of data strategy across the business.

The Role

We are looking for someone who ideally has experience of creating the definition of data architecture components for information management solutions to facilitate storage, integration, usage, access, and delivery of data assets across the enterprise.

The Responsibilities

*Responsible for the definition of data architecture components for information management

solutions to facilitate storage, integration, usage, access, and delivery of data assets across the enterprise

*Define and lead work packages that deliver elements of an information management solution e.g. MS Dynamics 365 data model, data structure, data warehouse, data mart, ETL service, operational data store

*Own the conceptual and logical data architecture for our data (operational and strategic) as well as documenting databases, interfaces and data movement.

*Design and deliver appropriate solutions to support the information and reporting needs of the division

*Document current (as-is) and future (to-be) data architectures

*Design the data integration architecture based on solution requirements e.g. real-time, near realtime, batch etc.

*Define formal data standards and ensure that data assets are in line with the defined data

architecture and/or with the goals of the business.

*Create and implement a data management strategy for achieving and maintaining high levels of data quality

*Engage with senior stakeholders and business teams to understand their specific information needs.

*Evaluate and recommend new and emerging data management and storage technologies and standards

*Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of all valuable data assets

*Ensure that new systems and/or applications adhere to existing data management practices policies and procedures

*Ownership of documentation, communication and definition of the structuring, storage and processing of data

*Remodelling the data warehouse to enable further scaling, accelerating that move to cloud platforms

*Mentor data teams whilst also remaining hands-on technically, transforming existing structures

The Requirements

*Previous experience of working in a global enterprise environment as well as having an excellent knowledge in modern and traditional architecture and processing concepts, including relational databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle) Data warehousing, big data (Hadoop, Spark, Storm), NoSQL, Business analysis.

*Previous experience of database design in Microsoft technology

*Ability to creating automated reporting structures from scratch

*Previous experience of data warehousing and the associated tools that come along with that

*Good working knowledge of traditional database platforms (preferably SQL Server)

*Knowledge of Power BI is highly desirable

*Experience of reporting, analytics and visualisation platforms and/or services

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills

*Ability to present information concisely and to clearly identify key issues
