Senior Engineer - Platform Monitoring and Control Design Have you operated in a Senior Engineer role? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Platform Monitoring and Control Design at our site in Glasgow. This role offers you the opportunity to make your mark on the Type 26 Global Combat Ship programme where we are proudly constructing the next generation of frigate for the Royal Navy. We have also recently been awarded the head contract by the Australian Government for the Hunter Class Frigate Program. The Hunter program will deliver nine anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy, and is the biggest surface ship project in Australia's defence history. BAE Systems' Global Combat Ship has also been chosen as the design for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) programme demonstrating our export capability. Your main responsibilities as Senior Engineer - Platform Monitoring and Control Design Will involve: Working within the Type 26 Platform Engineering team to resolve technical issues and queries as design maturity is increased Working with Supply Chain to review and approve Supplier Design Deliverables for both PM+C hardware and software Attending supplier design reviews Working with Type 26 Project Management and other parts of the PM&C team to ensure physical integration of PM&C equipment and that deliveries are made to support the Ship build Programme. Working with other parts of the PM&C team to ensure physical integration of PM&C equipment to the ship and delivery of hardware and software to support the Ship build Programme Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Platform Monitoring and Control Design Essential Skills: Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent work experience in an Engineering discipline (Examples: Systems, Electrical, Electronic, Software, Computer Science, Robotics, Control and Instrumentation) Understanding of design principles and approaches relevant to design activities Ability to work on multiple tasks with limited supervision Desirable: Knowledge of marine systems
