Job Title: Business Improvement ManagerLocation: ManchesterSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experienceJob type: Permanent, Full timeThis Company is the joint venture created by the merging of two large rail companies from Manchester and Doncaster. They specialise in a number of areas, including the machining of monobloc wheels and axles, in the assembly of complete wheelsets for freight, heavy rail, mass transit, light rail and high-speed trains and in the overhaul of train wheelsets, bogies and gearboxes.Working across the entire organisation, the Business Improvement Manager will be key in implementing strategic as well as process improvement projects throughout all of their sites.The RoleCoordinating your improvement practitioners into a strong, result based teamChallenging the norm with the objective to improve efficiencies in all areas of the businessResponsible for project managing certain capital investment projectsSetting up improvement projectsEnsuring lean and 5S audits are maintainedHelping teams to create and deliver further improvement plansWorking with all functions of the business to help drive cost reduction activities and KPI'sDevelop, improve and lead the team under your control in a wide range programme for Lean and CI implementationLead best practice and 'one company' initiativesThe Candidate:Ideally educated to Degree/HNC level (or equivalent).Previous quality, lean and continuous improvement experience gained in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Good IT skills including ERP, BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Good presentation skills.Strong problem-solving experience.Proven understanding of Kaizen, Lean or Six Sigma practices.Experience of previous improvement projects, ideally within a multi process manufacturing environment.Hands on experience in a range of manufacturing processes.A persuasive and influential approach, excellent work ethic, flexibility.Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; Process Improvement Leader, Senior Process Leader, Senior Process Improvement Leader, Operations Officer, Process Team Leader, Operations Manager, Development Manager, Operational Excellence Leader, Operational Excellence Manager, Process Manager, Process Lead, Operations Lead, Senior Process Team Lead, Process Improvement Officer, Process Coordinator, Project Manager, Project Management, Change Manager may also be considered for this role.
