The Infrastructure, Operations and Communications Team forms part of our Corporate functions that is responsible for providing support services for all other ScottishPower businesses. Cloud services will form a significant component of ScottishPower's IT infrastructure estate hosting many different IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services, private, public and hybrid.

Purpose
This is a leading role for the Cloud Computing team where you will be responsible for the identification, design and implementation support of Cloud infrastructure platforms and services to meet business requirements and goals. This will cover all public, private and hybrid deployments plus IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services.
You will be the "go to" person for Scottish Power's Cloud platforms and design and will work with Global teams to communicate and support the delivery of the Iberdrola Group cloud platform implementation strategy in the UK.
You will also be required to support and advise on the budgetary and cost estimations of cloud hosted services. This includes keeping up to date with Cloud budget vs Spend (by business) for current and planned use.
Responsibilities
The role includes the design and the support for the implementation of associated Cloud services such as Group cloud management platforms, cloud monitoring solutions and security controls. Specific focus will be on the cloud security and networking models for Cloud services where the role holder will work with the Quality, Security & Risk and IOC Networking teams.
Tasks for this role will include support cloud adoption and migration roadmaps; keep abreast of technology and architecture developments for cloud use; support project delivery and innovation initiatives where Cloud use is required; dive deep into complex application architecture; Define and communicate the cost of cloud services and support budget setting.
Skills & Requirements
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with excellent problem solving skills, critical thinking and decision making. Good communication will be essential in order to work effectively with others within and across departments.
Ideally someone with BSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and/or relevant experience in a Cloud Application Architect role including:
Cloud-native architectures
Public Cloud Computing platforms, especially MS Azure. Amazon AWS and Google is an additional advantage
Containers & Orchestration (i.e. Openshift Platform/Docker/Kubernetes)
Cloud digital services such as Chatbots, Voicebots, Stream processing, Big Data
Key application middleware (Weblogic, WAS, Tomcat)
Cloud migration patterns specially with CSP data platform adoption
Security solutions - authentication, entitlements, encryption, MFA, Federation
Networking solutions - IP address schemes, DNS, Routing, Firewalls
Big data stack is a plus such as Elasticsearch, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka
To be successful in a role you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:
Specialist knowledge of Cloud Architectures definition and implementation.
Significant experience of Cloud Architecture in an organisation of similar scope and scale to ScottishPower.
What We Offer:
This is a permanent full time contract. Salary for this role will be min. from £47,600 per annum. Other benefits for this role include a performance related bonus up to 10% and single cover health care.
