Linux Systems Admin - Web / Development

Spring are working in partnership with a forward thinking and influential organisation looking to recruit a Linux Systems Administrator with a passion for development looking to expand their skills and get extended exposure to various technologies / systems within a large transformation project. Your work will make a dramatic impact on the organisation and how it's IT systems evolve.

Your job will be:

As a Linux Systems Administrator (Web Systems) you will be at the forefront of supporting a world class information and technology environment within a high performing internet systems team.

You will need to have a background in systems administration and an appreciation for development as you'll be given the opportunity to utilise these skills on numerous different systems and integrate a wide range of technologies

The organisation has recently begun working on the development and integration of an enterprise scale identity and access management system which will be a core piece of your role.

Your responsibilities will be

*Designing and implementing Linux server setups and code deployment processes using tools such as Puppet, Jenkins, GIT etc.

*Work closely with developers, who use various programming languages on how best to test their code (automated and manual)

*Be closely involved on administration and development of existing systems such as the CMS, web hosting etc.

*Be the technical point of contact where other colleagues and departments can utilise your expertise

*Use a wide range of technologies such as PHP, Java, NodeJS to develop in house systems

You will need

*Systems administration skills using any of the mainstream Linux operating systems

*Experience running resilient web systems on Linux

*Some experience and a strong enthusiasm in one or more of the following development languages - PHP, Java, Ruby, NodeJS

*An ability to learn new technologies, techniques and best practices quickly and efficiently

*A creative individual, happy to push boundaries, be influential and stay up to date with new technologies
