Linux Engineer - Manchester - up to £34,000
The company:
One of the North West's leading university's are undergoing a wide range of complex business and IT change to their systems to ensure they remain one of the prominent UK universities and offer their students the best possible experience during their time with them.
Your Role:
To join an established infrastructure team to carry out BAU and project support on their extensive Linux environment. This will include face to face work with end users to identify issues and developer the best solutions to support the business' needs. There are a number of large project that will over time see you pick up more responsibility for as well as working on security checks, various deployments and problem fixes.
Essential:
*A high level of knowledge and expertise with installing, managing, patching and supporting Linux/Unix based systems
*Expertise in CentOS, Apache, Nginx and MySQL.
*Experience of Linux Web based solutions at an enterprise level for both business operations and hosting operations.
*Experience of Bash Scripting.
**Some Experience of using MySQL, php and Apache on Windows based servers.
