Infrastructure Engineer

One of our Birmingham based clients is looking for 2 Infrastructure Engineers to join their team. As the infrastructure engineer you will work with virtualisation, cloud window server applications. You will be working within a global organisation, and be committed to making improvements to the existing infrastructure.

Infrastructure Engineer duties will include but not limited to:

*Supporting hardware, software and applications

*Planning and installing hardware, and monitoring system uptime

*Responsible for installation, configuration and operation of their hosting infrastructure

*Designing and implementing data centre and internal hosted computer systems

*Identifying any system configuration/performance irregularities, and developing procedures to respond to these issues

*Improving and documenting existing processes and procedures

*Acting as a technical resource by providing support for BAU and projects across the business

As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be required to possess:

*Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2012/2016

*Excellent knowledge of 3PAR and NetApp, as well as other storage technologies

*Previous existing support virtualisation technologies - VMware (up to 6.5)

*Experience with: Active Directory, Citrix XenApp, SCCM, Solarwinds, WSUS

*Knowledge of Cisco IronPort Mail technologies would be beneficial

With a salary on offer of up to £50,000 + overtime/on-call (time and half) bank holidays/Sundays (double pay) this is an excellent opportunity to join a global business.

It is ESSENTIAL that all applicants hold a valid drivers licence and have access to a vehicle as this role will require travel a few times a month to other locations of the business. You will also be required to work on an on-call basis and undertake overtime as required.
