What's the role?

You'll be working as a Business Analyst within the Production Delivery team in the UK. Will take responsibility for one or more Business Processes. Will need to gain a thorough understanding of their processes so that they can discuss requirements, opportunities, potential improvements and issues with the business stakeholders. Will be responsible to scoping and estimating small projects, capturing requirements for projects, working within larger projects to help deliver projects but importantly embedding solutions and making sure that the business get the anticipated value.

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and defining the business needs of their clients and stakeholders and helping to determine solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. This work is typically within a specific business area. The role may be part of an IT project development environment or an individual contributor at the business interface.

More specific duties might include: Able to link technical solutions with business strategy when working with business partners. Has knowledge of how competitors are using IT solutions to gain competitive edge, applies that knowledge to projects. Leading stakeholder management activities. Creates opportunities to make the stakeholder feel valued and develop trust. Broad and extensive knowledge, often in own specialized field, to provide interpretive, advisory or facilitating services for the use of others to achieve results. Participates in industry IT BA related activities such as IIBA webcasts and/or chapter meetings and applies learning within Shell including sharing of learning.
Requirements

What we need from you


You'll be an IT Business Analyst that has a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail. We're keen to hear from men and women with as many of the following on your CV: Experience in BA techniques, tools or business areas and proficient in most of the BA knowledge areas. Experience of Upstream with knowledge in at least one Business Process is preferable. Knowledge of business process improvement, benefit and risk management. An aptitude for considering the user's perspective in IT development. and has a deep understanding of user aspects of interactive systems. You'll ideally have or will be working to achieve an IT certification in CBAP, CCBA or PMI-PBA.
