The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a transformative, customer driven and collaborative IT leader to head up the delivery of the Digital IT services and infrastructure across the University of Huddersfield. The new Director of Digital Information Technology will deliver the modern technology landscape which will underpin the University's Digital Strategy.  The Director of Digital Information Technology will take the strategic lead for technology, working across the University, building trusted partner relationships, creating a compelling vision and delivering a transformative programme of IT & Digital change.

The Role:

Operate as a senior leader across the University, building collaborative relationships with key academic and professional services stakeholders in order to cement trust and understand the demand for IT and digital solutions. Deliver a comprehensive digital information suite to our students and maintain the service excellence experienced by our students in the library environment.

Create a transformative, aligned IT strategy and digital roadmap, to deliver the aims of the University's new Digital Strategy. Deliver enhanced IT performance, improved customer experience and the ability for the University to make evidence-based decisions. Craft a prioritised and deliverable portfolio of aligned IT and digital programmes.

Provide strong functional leadership to the IT teams, driving clarity of responsibility and process. Build an IT team culture which puts the user at the heart of what it does, makes IT easy to engage with and gives it a reputation for reliable, outstanding delivery.

The Candidate:

With significant exposure to complex, technology-driven, information-intensive environments, you will have the ability to understand the needs of a diverse organisation. You will also demonstrate the strategy-setting and programme delivery skills to enable these needs to be met.

Collegiate and collaborative in approach, you will be an outstanding communicator able to build relationships proactively with strategic level stakeholders both across the University and at partner organisations.

An enthusiastic people leader, you will have the proven ability to galvanise large IT and digital teams, creating customer-focused cultures and articulating the benefits of adopting new approaches and ways of working.
