In this role you would be responsible for improving the quality of output for the wide range of systems that they work on. Whilst that is a common goal for the entire team, you would be expected to drive this from a testing point of view.

You would be part of a great, collaborative team working on interesting projects. This really is a role to make your own.

Your responsibilities will include

- Working on scoping out test scenarios and cases to execute against both small changes and larger projects

- Liaising with project managers and developers on scenarios to be tested

- Manual testing of new features and web sites/systems

- Writing out and managing automated tests (with help from developers if required)

- Working on re-test expectations with the wider team

- Help with data requirements to ensure tests are accurate or can be repeated reliably for staging environments

Main duties are

- Reviewing change feature specifications/bug reports to plan test approaches and provide test estimates

- Identify test and environment requirements from relevant documentation

- Writing test plans to explore all impacted areas including relevant levels of regression coverage

- Execution of tests and capturing/documenting test results

- Investigating, raising and helping to resolve any arising issues

- Reporting test scripting and execution progress and any blockers in a timely manner

- Attending and contributing to meetings to help improve our overall output

- Providing support during the UAT period as required

- Creating and maintaining regression scripts

- Ensuring standards and best practices throughout the testing phase are adhered to

- Contributing to the ongoing improvement in the development life cycle

Essential skills

- Some coding experience - useful for writing automated tests

- Functional test experience

- Regression, UAT and non-functional testing understanding

- Excel and Word experience

- Self-motivated and pro-active

- Organised

- Good Communicator

Desired skills/experience

- BDD experience or understanding

- Cross browser testing

- API testing

- Agile or Waterfall understanding/exposure

- UX understanding

- Jira experience
