£23000 + Mon-Thursday role + Overtime + Training + Pension + holiday
Excellent opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join a company that will offer you a varied and interesting role with a company that will invest heavily into your training and development. In this role you will report to the CNC Production Manager and will be expected to set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines as well as handling, loading and setting fixture plates and support jigs onto 3-axis and 4-axis machines in a one-off or low batch machining environment. The ideal candidate will ideally be time served, have previous experience in a machining environment and have the ability to read and interpret 2D machining drawings. *Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines.
*Mon - Thursday - 2:30 to midnight
*Work to tight machining tolerances and thoroughly check his/her own work.
*Use manual measuring equipment, e.g. micrometers, verniers, thread gauges.
*Perform in process batch inspection of CNC machined parts, particularly critical / tied tolerances. Work to 2D drawings and job specifications with the minimum of supervision, after training.The person:
*Ideally time-served apprentice / engineer in mechanical engineering
*Previous experience in a machining environment
*Working on own initiative in a machine shop environment
*Ability to read and interpret 2D machining drawings, including tolerances and surface finish specifications
*Experience in hand finishing of metal components & bench fitting, hand-tapping, deburring etc.
