Actuarial Developer - SQL / VBAOur client who are a leading insurance client who insure the unique and the interesting, currently require an experienced Actuarial Developer to join their expanding team. Joining their reserving data systems team you will require in depth experience with SQL, VBA and ETL. The role will help deliver the Reserving Team strategic programme of change, BAU changes and support existing operational systems.As the Reserving application portfolio matures, other programming skills and an openness to learn new programming languages will be required e.g. R, T#/C#, Python etc.Skills required: '€¢SQL Development background'€¢VBA Development background'€¢Expert MS Excel Skills'€¢Strong development practice skills (code configuration management, version control, build processes)'€¢Appreciation of design patterns and practices that apply to Reserving (e.g. Data Modelling)'€¢Ability to take the lead on technical workstreams, leading the estimate and design of end-to-end solutions alongside others as appropriate'€¢An expert problem-solver who can drive forward initiatives under their own steam Desirable skills: '€¢Experience with 3rd party Reserving and Modelling applications (e.g ResQ, Tyche) : integration, configuration and administration'€¢BI Skillset:'€¢Ability to prepare data for the purpose of reporting analytics'€¢Ability to analyse data sets (new or existing) to gain new insight'€¢Ability to deliver information in pre prepared structures for easy business consumption'€¢Tableau, Alteryx, SSAS , SSIS'€¢Azure data analytics technologies'€¢An understanding of the Reserving operating model; critical activities constraints'€¢Understanding of Prince 2 Agile software delivery principlesActuarial Developer - SQL / VBADue to the volume of applications received for positions, it will not be possible to respond to all applications and only applicants who are considered suitable for interview will be contacted.
