Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Canary Wharf - Competitive Salary + Bonus A leading media and news provider are currently recruiting for an innovative Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join a team of tech professionals. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer within this organisation, you will be working with technical and non-technical team members to create, maintain and execute system tests both manually and automated.Along with delivering raw assets such as text, graphics, pictures, and video, our client also has a mission to provide the richest packaged media possible, and to provide an industry leading user experience for their customers.Responsibilities Detect defects and create informative bug reports and effectively follow up on bug closureAdvise the team on major issues to product qualityCreate test reports detailing all bugs and issues found in each test iterationKeep the QA systems updated with relevant data and configurations to ensure effective test coverageMust be able to work on more than one-time sensitive project at a timeBe proactive about testing, test coverage, and resolving issuesSkills & Experience Required Specific knowledge and understanding of internet protocols and web technologiesSpecific knowledge and experience working with test automation tools and frameworks such as SeleniumAbility to work with software developers and discuss technical issues in detailSpecific knowledge and experience working with web services and RESTFUL APIsSpecific knowledge and experience working with relational databasesSpecific working knowledge of performance and load testing toolsWorking knowledge of Amazon Web ServicesFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum developmentFamiliarity with Source Control and CD/CI systems such as Git and JenkinsAbility to create effective test plansAbility to write effective test cases (manual and automated)Ability to understand business requirements and translate them in to test casesAbility to program in Python and Javascript (Python preferred however other languages will be considered)Skills & Experience DesiredProven background of test engineering experienceCurrent or former software developer who loves testingCurrent or former experience in media and/or news delivery systemsExperience with satellite technologiesExperience in broadcast media and video standardsBenefits Working in a renowned media companyCompetitive salary + bonusWorking with innovative techWorking within a highly collaborative team
