Solutions ArchitectBirminghamUp to £60,000 + Bonus Solutions Architect / Solutions / Architect / Roadmaps / Strategy / IT Strategy / IT Solutions / Business Requirements / Problem Solving / ITIL/ Application / Data / Infrastructure Experis IT are currently recruiting for a Solution Architect to join one of our key clients based in Birmingham City Centre. You will be solely based in Birmingham City Centre, in an office flexible role, working as part of a wider team inclusive of Business Analysts, Project Managers, and an Infrastructure team. In this role you will support multiple diverse initiatives across our business, producing high quality designs, balancing business needs and cost of ownership while advancing the architecture. You will also be the go-to person for day to day technical guidance for our extended teams helping projects from inception to delivery.

The Solution Architect's work is varied and challenging, and includes the following:

* Leading the identification of potential solutions able to fulfil business requirements and making recommendations to the business based on architecture principles & guidelines

* Presenting findings & recommendations to IT Architecture Forum, identifying where the proposed solution does not adhere to architecture principles and why

* Ensuring that all licensing implications are understood and documented in support of the detailed solution design

* Building market & sector knowledge to ensure awareness of potential solutions / solution providers and sharing knowledge with other IT teams to enable engagement with the business

* Working with 3rd party solution providers to produce roadmaps for all architecture components

* Identifying opportunities for decommissioning legacy systems and documenting licensing implications

* Maintaining documentation on the current architecture (Application, Data, Infrastructure and Licensing) ensuring changes are reflected in a timely manner

What we would like to see from you:

* Five years' experience in a similar architecture role

* Demonstrable understanding of architecture methodologies

* ITIL foundation - Appreciation of ITIL and Service Design techniques - Desirable

* Demonstrable experience of working within an Agile environment

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Ability to influence key stakeholders and work together to make change happen

* Knowledge and understanding of corporate policy and business strategy

* The ability to produce, manipulate, implement or enhance all architecture concepts, roadmaps, principles or effective strategies

* The ability to think laterally and constructively question established process

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

* Proven experience of managing third party companies
