E-Commerce Engineer

My client is one of the UK's leading gas and electricity supplier , due to large scale growth they are recruiting a E-Commerce Engineer to be based in there Redhill office .

Operating from my clients Redhill Office, this role is an important member of the IT Department. The successful delivery of E-Commerce Projects for the business is essential to ensure business growth, retention of customers, regulatory requirements continue to be met and the expansion of new business.

The E-Commerce Engineer ensures that the products provided on the internet meet with the expectations of the business and customers as well as assisting the IT Development and Testing sections with their CI/CD processes

JOB DIMENSIONS

*This role will involve liaising with a number of departments to determine their requirements and to discuss with E-Commerce manager with a view to creating projects / solutions for customers.

*You will need very good problem solving skills and programming skills - developed from practical experience with Portal Applications and Projects.

*You should have good communication skills and able to articulate information both verbally and in written form

ACTIVITIES

*Provide support for Jenkins release management system.

*Write Ansible playbooks to configure Linux systems and / or release applications to Linux and Windows based systems.

*Good working knowledge of Python programming and Test Driven Development.

*Knowledge of Groovy scripting would be useful.

*Able to provide System Administration for Linux systems especially Ubuntu and RHEL.

*Knowledge of Docker, docker-compose and supporting containers would be useful.

*Knowledge of Redhat OpenShift.

*Knowledge of NGINX configuration and deployment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

*Provide support for existing systems to allow for new users to be set up on the system with the correct permissions.

*Troubleshoot any problems encountered with Linux based web systems running on Tomcat and NGNIX.

*Be aware of and provide plans to deal with threats the E-Commerce areas of the business can face from external and internal attacks.

*Co-ordinate regular security penetrations checks of the systems and implement any reasonable recommendations.

Technical skills

*Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Python is essential. Knowledge of Groovy, Ansible and Java programming useful.

*Good knowledge of containers especially docker and docker-compose is highly desirable.
