IT Risk and Assurance Consultant

My well known, award winning financial services client is looking for a passionate and experienced IT Risk and Assurance Consultant to join the team at their head office on the outskirts Birmingham.

As part of the Group Risk function this role offers the opportunity to play a crucial part in the technology, information security and cyber risk oversight and assurance capability. This will include planning thematic assurance activity, ensuring its completion and providing insight and recommendation to the business.

This role will initially be a 6 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

*Provide risk-based, accurate, practical and sound guidance, opinion and support to operational and strategic change initiatives, both BAU and project and breach and incident remediation plans.

*Effectively analyse breaches, incidents, internal and external audit, compliance monitoring and other review findings to determine IT and Cyber risk implications.

*Review relevant customer processes and systems where there are changes and provide guidance, recommendations and challenge to business owners on areas for development / improvement.

*Support the design, production and refresh of the regulatory risk monitoring universe and the determination of plans to deliver appropriate assurance.

*Report and deliver IT & Cyber risk review / assurance activity consulting with senior management to formulate and agree effective solutions to any identified shortfalls.

Key Skills and Experience required:

*Relevant IT and Cyber Crime technical experience, including knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation, product administration processes and outsourced service arrangements.

*Previous Assurance and / or Monitoring experience.

*Previous IT experience in IT Support, Networking or similar.

*Proven analytical, audit and investigative skills and judgement and reasoning ability.

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and challenge at all levels.

*Proven abilities in relationship and dispute management with internal and external stakeholders.

*Excellent organisation skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

*Ability to work under own initiative.

*Fully conversant in mainstream business software applications

*Willing to travel.

This is a great opportunity to join a well know, established company during an exciting period of change.
