IT Infrastructure Engineer

£45,000 - £50,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Initial 6 Month FTC - Central London

(possibility to eventually go perm)

As a trusted, approved and preferred recruitment partner to this well-known chartered accountant firm, we have been asked to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Infrastructure Engineer. You will be required to support the existing infrastructure including server, storage, network, data and applications. Additionally, you will be involved in project-based work to improve and enhance the current infrastructure environment set-up.

This is a fixed-term contract of 6 months, and the client has confirmed there is a possibility of being offered a permanent opportunity if you are successful in your role. As part of this position, you may be required to occasionally work out of office hours on certain projects, and will also take part in an out of hours rota (1 in 4 weeks). Occasion travel may also be needed.

What You'll Be Doing

-Administering the corporate infrastructure (Active Directory, LAN, Internet Access, Firewalls Exchange)

-Administer VMware vSphere 6.5+ Infrastructure and Nimble Storage with Site Recover Manager

-Administer the software application and desktop OS deployment environment (using MSCCM)

-Administer the Avaya IP 500 VOIP telephone system

-Use of Windows Script Host/VBScript to customise software application deployment

-Monitor / Troubleshoot network performance

-Administer backup and disaster recovery systems / processes

-Manage relationships with third parties and suppliers

-Delivering 3rd line support and infrastructure projects

-Recommend and deliver improved IT Infrastructure systems

Skills and Experience Required (in order of preference)

-Microsoft Windows Server - 2008/2012R2/2016 including clustering

-VMWare Sphere 6.5+ (including use of Site Recovery Manager)

-iSCSI/Fibre channel Storage Area Networks (such as Nimble)

-Cisco Switches and Routers

-Backup Systems (preferably CommVault)

-Avaya Telephone Systems Management (IP Office Server Edition)

-Office 365 / Azure IaaS

-MS Exchange Server 2010+ / Exchange Online

-PowerShell

-Citrix Presentation / XenApp Server 7.15 including PVS

-Troubleshooting network protocols (with technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, vLAN

-Windows 10

-SQL Server 2014+

-Patch Management Deployment / Windows Software Update Services / VMWare

Useful Qualifications

-MSCA/MCSE/MCITP: Enterprise Administration or Server Administration/VCP or equivalent IT Qualifications
