Data Analyst

My nationally recognised client, known for being a great place to work are looking for a passionate Data Analyst to join their Advanced Analytics team at their head office in the heart of Birmingham City Centre.

The Data Analyst will carry out analysis and publish reports, using advanced BI tools and data science techniques to gain insight from the client's data. Innovation is actively encouraged, and finding new ways to allow people to engage with our data is a key objective of the programme!

Key Duties:

*Source, access, manipulate and apply analytical processes to explore and prepare analysis of data using appropriate BI tools to visualise and present findings to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.

*Leverage the value of data to aid evidence-based policy and strategic / operational decision making by working with a wide range of stakeholders; use a variety of analysis and business intelligence tools whilst complying with relevant analytical standards.

*Apply critical thinking to understand organisational data needs, develop analytical solutions and work effectively within multi-discipline teams to implement them.

*Support development and implementation of the corporate data model and master data management arrangements. Contribute to creation of data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence systems.

*Support development and adoption of the Data Management Strategy and supporting policies. Support the Data Programme team in establishing stakeholder data requirements, data creation and collection approaches.

*Support the development of metrics for performance measurement frameworks and prepare dashboards to report them.

Skills and Experience required:

*Proven data management skills, knowledge and experience and be able to undertake competent data analysis and produce a range of data products

*Experience with a variety of BI tools, ideally some knowledge of PowerBI

*Any knowledge of coding or R would be a bonus

*Problem solving skills and creativity are key competencies for the role

*Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals

*Able to effectively contribute to task and deadline orientated teams
