Infrastructure Engineer - Unix/Middleware

My client is one of the UK's leading gas and electricity supplier , due to large scale growth they are recruiting a Infrastructure Engineer to be based in there Redhill office .

This role will have a specialist area of expertise - e.g. , Unix / Middleware, Database Analyst. Candidates will have solid exposure of :

Technical skills -

Technical skills - Unix/Middleware

*Experience and use of Oracle Solaris 10/11 deploying, operating and administering including use of zones for virtualisation

*Experience and knowledge of SUN Sparc hardware

*Understanding of Fibre channel, iSCSi, NFS network protocols and connectivity

*Experience of scripting, Unix shell tools etc.

*Administration of Tivoli Workstation (Maestro)

*Deployment & Administration of application servers & deployment of applications (Glassfish, Weblogic, JCAPs)

*Administration of Oracle SOA Suite

*Understanding and use of backup technologies such as tape, EMC Data Domain, EMC Networker

Technical skills - Windows / Networking

*General Windows & Active Directory administration skills to MCSE standard (Server/Desktop O/S)

*Storage and backup Infrastructure/Technologies (SAN/NAS CIFS, iSCSI, EMC etc.)

*SCCM software deployment skills and awareness of software packaging and patch management

*Scripting ability - PowerShell, VBScript etc.

*Email and unified communications technologies and mail filerting tools

*Good Citrix administration and knowledge of clustering / resilience architecture

*VMWARE administration - provisioning desktops, maintaining OS templates, updating ESX servers

*Network Infrastructure (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, firewalls etc.)

*Web filtering and ISA server administration (eg WebSense, ISA Server)

Operating from the Redhill Office, this role is a member of the IT Infrastructure Team. IT Infrastructure is critical to operate to all my cleints business activities both operational and incident related.
