Infrastructure Support Team Leader
Would you like to build and lead a team responsible for the installation and configuration of a wide variety of Engineering software applications and their infrastructure? We currently have a vacancy for an Infrastructure Support Team Leader based at our BAE Systems site in Warton.
The Engineering Systems Competency Centre (ESCC) within IM&T (Information Management & Technology) is looking to expand its existing application infrastructure capability and build a team that will undertake the installation, configuration and management of multiple Engineering application environments, controlling their configuration, documenting build processes and installation documentation, whilst working with vendors who provide the configuration.
Within this role you will be hands-on as well leading a team consisting of several specialists providing infrastructure support for installing and configuring complex multi-tier applications
Your main responsibilities as an Infrastructure Support Team Leader will involve:
-Supporting the installation and configuration of many engineering applications (on both Windows and Unix environments)
-Providing technical expertise to new needs from the Engineering businesses
-Building, installing and configuring several key Engineering applications (e.g. CATIA, PLM)
-Providing support to the ESCC software development team on tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, Collaborator, Enterprise Architect, Mantis, Bugzilla and UNIX support
-Development and configuration of ESCC (Engineering Systems Competency Centre) application toolset capability
-Providing High Performance Computing (HPC) application installation and support
-Installation and/or setup of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
-Hosting of several Jira instances used throughout both IM&T and the wider Engineering businesses
Your skills and qualifications as an Infrastructure Support Team Leader
-Degree or equivalent in STEM subject
-Extensive working knowledge of a variety of IT environments
-Experience of installing and configuring complex IT software applications
-Experience of either Windows or Unix application installation and configuration
-Familiarity with the Attlassian suite (Jira, Confluence etc.)
-Knowledge and experience of ITIL

You will be self-motivated and have the ability to communicate complex technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders within the business. You will have experience of working on application software architectures.
