Java Developer / Tech Lead (Java 8 Spring AWS Data). Opportunity to join a fast growing FinTech that is helping to revolutionise consumer banking through the use of advanced data centric, cloud based technology.

As a senior Java Developer / Tech Lead you will provide technical leadership to a small team with a focus on the payments platform that enables a full range of payments processing including card payments, BACs, Mobile, CHAPS and an expanding range of international payment standards.

You'll remain hands-on producing both detailed technical work and high level architectural design; you'll evangelise best practice and utilise your experience with cutting edge technologies and distributed, scalable systems to steer the technical direction of the team. The platform is built in Java on AWS infrastructure with AWS services and Open Source frameworks.

You'll be based in modern, open plan offices with all the latest kit; a well stocked kitchen / canteen area and a highly motivated team atmosphere and flexible working opportunities.

Requirements:

Indepth knowledge of core Java and Spring frameworks (SpringBoot, Spring Security)

Experience with secure payments platforms

Strong knowledge of AWS

Experience in helping leading development life cycle process, best practices and operating distributed cloud-based microservices; keen to take on a technical leadership role

Database experience e.g. SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL

Ideally you will have experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark or other Big Data streaming technologies

Familiar with DevOps environments / Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

Excellent communication skills; collaborative and personable

As a Java Developer / Tech Lead you will earn a competitive salary (to £120k) plus stock options.
