Simulation Software Engineer - Junior to Mid

£25,000 - £35,000

We are a Sheffield based fast-growing company specialising in the provision of IT Technology driven solutions for business challenges.

The company has a strategic partnership with Rockwell Automation and holds Recognised, Certified System Integrator (RcSI) and Arena Simulation Partner status, one of only two companies in the Europe who do so. The company also partners with other key IT technology market leaders including for example, Cisco, Microsoft as well as other well-known names.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a technically demanding and rewarding environment as part of a strong technical team.

The Simulation Software Engineer Role:

The role will be critically important to the continued growth in the provision of simulation and software services offered to prestigious clients. The Candidate will be client-facing and capable of presenting technical information in a clear and concise manor to non-technical employees and clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with the client in the conception and completion of functional design specifications (FSD) prior to the commencement of a simulation project. As a software engineer specialising in simulation, the candidate will complete the proposed modelling activities (using our preferred tool Arena Simulation by Rockwell) working towards the agreed FSD. The candidate will be expected to provide frequent updates to the project manager on model progress, working under pressure to achieve project deliverables against set project milestones. The candidate may be working alone, or as part of a larger team depending on the size, complexity and resource/time constraints of a project.

The successful candidate will also create training plans through engagement with clients and conduct tailored training activities for small groups. Training will often require three days of training at the client's site in UK, Ireland and Poland.

The company is active in promoting simulation within various industries. Frequent demonstration workshops and educational online seminars are hosted by Sales and may require technical support from the candidate for the preparation and delivery of these events.

From time to time, there may also be other R&D projects or sales/marketing collateral activities that requires technical support from the candidate to produce working models.

In addition, the successful candidate should be open to engaging with other software engineers within the company to support non-simulation related software projects. This may require additional training where necessary to broaden the candidates experience and technical know-how.
