They have more than 50 years' experience at the forefront of Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) expendable decoy research, design and manufacture, and as a company with a culture of innovation, operational excellence and safety, they operate at the leading edge of expendable countermeasure technology.The responsibilities of the role are as follows: Working within a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for developing control systems hardware and PLC software for both current and future equipment.Responsibilities will include: conceptual design, electrical CAD technical documentation, BOMs and design calculations.Communication networks and protocols (serial, Profibus, Ethernet)P&ID nomenclature and electrical wiring diagramsProcess and Machinery Safety (CE, PUWER, HAZOP)Working knowledge of Explosive Regulations 2014 is advantageous but not essential.Working knowledge of Functional Safety Systems (eg BS EN 61508/61511) is advantageous but not essential.COMAH Site WorkingDSEAR/ATEX Compliance (eg BS EN 60079)Design and write PLC / HMI / SCADA control system softwareProduce required documentation (e.g. Functional design specifications, manuals)You will be working in a progressive team of multi-disciplined engineers within the overall engineering department and a flexible approach is essential.To ensure maintenance support across multiple shifts (early, late, night and weekends) you will be expected to deliver PLC maintenance training to our engineering team.Person SpecificationYou will have a number of years' experience in a manufacturing industry designing special purpose control systems for machines or capital equipment.HND or Degree level in control/electrical/electronic or related engineering subjects or HNC with relevant experience.Extensive working knowledge of ProfibusPLC programming experience is essential: Siemens S7Manufacturing industry Automation experience is essential.Knowledge of SCADA and HMI and motor drive programming is essential.Experience in Automated Materials Handling or similar regulated, controls environment would be advantageous but is not essentialYou will be well organised and able to communicate effectively with customers, senior management, both internal and external.Although this is a controls & software design position, knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems would be very useful.Health, Safety & EnvironmentDemonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible mannerEnsure at all times that you work in compliance with all laws, acts, regulations and policies outlined in all manuals and handbooks, as updated from time to timeReport all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct mannerWhen required or directed, participate in any health and safety training To find out more about Huxley Engineering, please visit www.huxleyengineering.comHuxley Engineering, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy | Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
